Athens Coast Martin
Martin is Swedish, but now lives in Milan, Italy.  He has been travelling to Greece since he was a child.  He loves the Greek culture, nature, food, music and the fun-loving smart people.  “Greece is in so many ways more interesting than Italy.”

Why did you decide to stay on the Athens Coast?

I love Athens and wanted to explore the area a little more.  I wanted to get an island feel but with a cosmopolitan vibe, to see how the holiday and the every-day meet.

What was your favorite part about the Athens Coast?

It’s clean and has beautiful views.  The restaurants and atmosphere serves as a nice up-scale complement to the city centre.

What is your favorite beach?

I like the more exclusive areas in Vouliagmeni and further out- away from the city.

What is your favorite area to spend time in during the day?

Vouliagmeni on the Coast and I also like to spend time in Athens- Exarcheia, Plaka and Agias Eirinis Square in Monastiraki.

For a night out, which area do you prefer?

A perfect night for me would be dinner at Moorings in Vouliagmeni and then out to Bouzoukia or Island in Varkiza.

What should the rest of the world know about the Athens Coast?

How beautiful and surprisingly exclusive it is. It isn’t similar to Barcelona which is quite cosy but the Athens Coast is more exclusive and urban – perhaps more similar to Ipanema in Rio.
